Expert Geoscientist
GeoPool is looking for experts within the exploration and mining industry to support our geological services and to develop our service portfolio. The position is permanent and starts at the earliest convenience. The workplace is located either in our Finnish or Swedish headquarter offices, or you can work flexibly remotely. The position includes infrequent travelling to project localities.
Work tasks
- Expanding and supporting exploration activities with respect to your field of expertise (e.g. structural geology, quaternary geology, 3D modelling, geophysics, mining operations, environment, or hydrology)
- Developing methods and work procedures
- Planning of activities, interpretation of results and reporting
- Mentoring personnel
- Communication with clients and contractors
- Establishing HSE and quality control procedures
We expect from you
- At least 15 years’ experience in exploration and/or mine geology
- MSc or higher degree in Geosciences or in another relevant field
- Good written and oral proficiency in Finnish/Swedish and English
- Experience of a manager position or similar
- European driving licence B
- Commitment to safe and environmentally sustainable working procedures
Considered an asset
- Knowledge of the Mining Act and/or associated laws
- PhD degree or Competent Person/Qualified Person Certificate
- Capability to travel in the Nordic countries
- Experience with GIS / 3D modelling
- Experience with databases (e.g. Access)
