National Differences in Nordic Mineral Exploration

At Vuorimiespäivät 2026, Mathias Forss, Founder and President of GeoPool, gave a presentation on the national differences in Nordic mineral exploration.

Finland, Sweden and Norway are often grouped together, but the conditions for exploration differ significantly between the three countries. From permitting processes and regulatory frameworks to political priorities and public debate, national differences shape the practical progress of exploration projects. These factors influence not only project timelines and operating conditions, but also how exploration is perceived and discussed in each country.
